Cancer Patient, Survivor, or Caregiver Support Group

This support group meets every Thursday, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Katterhagen Resource Center at MultiCare Regional Cancer Center. This group is offered at no cost and is open to any cancer patient, survivor, or caregiver. These are open groups and participants may come regularly or as often as they choose.

Cancer Pathways (formerly Gilda’s Club)

Cancer Pathways offers a program of educational, supportive, and community options for men, women, teens and children living with cancer along with their families and friends. Programs are offered in Seattle and throughout the state with collaborating partners in varied locations such as hospitals, community centers and schools.

Fitting Food into your Fight Against Cancer

Designed for cancer patients in active treatment and their caregiver or support person. Topics include: anti-inflammatory foods to aid recovery and healing, coping with common treatment related side effects, and reputable nutrition resources. Instructor: Nancy Steedman RD, CD, a certified specialist in oncology nutrition. This class is held at the St. Joseph’s Medical Center on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 3 p.m.

General Cancer Support Group

The goals of this cancer support group are to provide a chance to talk with other survivors, to receive and offer others support, to learn stress management techniques, to provide education/information sharing, and allow an opportunity for participants to tell their story. This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month  from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m at the MultiCare Regional Cancer Center in Tacoma.

Knit for Life

Open to anyone touched by cancer. Teaches knitting to patients. All supplies and instruction are provided. Held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month; 1-3pm at St Joseph Medical Center.

Partners in healing. A free 12-week health and wellness program for cancer patients that focuses on the whole person. The program helps people ease their way back into fitness.
